Touring the French and Italian Alps in 4×4 with Territori4x4
On August 13, 2022, we set off on an unforgettable 6-day journey aboard our 4x4s, conquering the natural beauty and wild adventure of the French and Italian Alps. This 4×4 trip took us from Albertville to Nice, through picturesque villages, stunning mountains, and fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The adventure began in Albertville, then we crossed towards Chamonix and Tignes, and finally ascended to the imposing Mont Blanc. Here, we immerse ourselves in the tracks of Haute-Savoie and taste the thrill of driving on 4×4 routes at more than 2000 meters high. Next, we challenge the famous cursed mountain of Chamonix and cross the Col de L’Iseran, the highest mountain pass in the Alps.
The journey continued in Italy, in the charming region of Valle d’Aosta in Piedmont and the ancient municipality of Sestriere. We cannot forget our visit to the fortress of Fenestrelle, a must on any 4×4 trip to the Alps. We rode the highest 4×4 track in Europe, an experience that will take your breath away.
We return to France to visit Briançon, where we enjoy its majestic fortifications, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We continue to Bardonecchia and then to Barcelonette, enjoying stunning views and the thrill of the 4×4 exit every stretch of the way. Mercantour National Park was another highlight of our 4×4 trip to the Alps; The unspoiled nature and unique fauna left us amazed.
Finally, we reach the blue shores of Nice. But before relaxing on the beaches of the Côte d’Azur, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the mythical stage of the Monte Carlo Rally in our 4x4s. At every step of our 4×4 route, we were captivated by the local cuisine. We taste the best French and Italian delicacies in the restaurants recommended by Territori4x4, a delight for the senses.
